Michael Dawson insists the squad can’t wait for Sunday’s North London derby at the Lane.
It’s a key match in the Premier League. We go into the weekend’s fixtures sitting in third place while Arsenal are fifth, four points behind us. Chelsea, in fourth, take on West Brom at home.
Michael, one of our longest-serving players, admits the players were stung by November’s meeting at the Emirates.
We started superbly that day, went 1-0 up and looked on top when everything changed in the 18th minute, goalscorer Emmanuel Adebayor was sent off and the Gunners eventually ran out 5-2 winners.
Michael also points out confidence is high after Monday night’s last-minute 3-2 win at West Ham, our third-successive win as we stretched our run to 11 matches unbeaten and one defeat in 15 in the Premier League.
“It’s another North London derby and one we all look forward to - players, fans, everyone involved, even neutrals,” said Michael, who captained the team at Upton Park.
“We had a tough time at the Emirates, taking a 5-2 beating there is never nice, but we’re back at the Lane, we’re in a rich vein of form, everyone is full of confidence and it’s a game we’re all looking forward to.”
